WEF Global Data Partnership Against Forced Labour workshop
The ILO will participate in the first workshop of the World Economic Forum Global Data Partnership Against Forced Labour in New York on Friday 28 March. By bringing together committed leaders across existing networks and initiatives, the partnership accelerates collective efforts towards effective data sharing, bridging critical data gaps and driving systemic action against forced labour. Freedom from Slavery Europe Regional Forum
The Freedom from Slavery Europe Regional Forum, on the topic “Harmonizing Efforts to Eliminate Forced Labor and Child Labor: Sharing Progress and Best Practices in Europe and Globally” will take place in Brussels from 5-7 May. The Forum seeks to foster a clear understanding of progress and remaining gaps, enhance stakeholder coordination, and mobilize collective engagement to accelerate the fight against modern slavery. The Europe Forum is a collaboration between the Belgian Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, and Free the Slaves. France, as a member of the Steering Committee for the Forum's preparation, remains committed to driving global action against forced labour and child labour. Find out more and register here.

Understanding working conditions of fishers in Indonesia: Evidence from the 2024 Survey on Decent Work in Marine Fishing
This report presents the findings of Indonesia's first-ever Survey on Decent Work in Marine Fishing, conducted by the ILO in collaboration with the Research Center for Population of the National Research and Innovation Agency (PRK-BRIN). The survey strengthens evidence of severe violations of workers' rights, including force labour and trafficking for forced labour.
Research on Emerging Market Perspectives on Business and Human Rights Measures and Economic Development
In line with UK’s commitment to achieving SDG8 and to the UNGPs, the FCDO supported FiftyEight to identify how the implementation of Business and Human Rights measures (such as mandatory human rights due diligence) are experienced in Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDEs), taking the perspectives of those across the supply chain, ranging from smallholders to international buyers. Effectiveness of Forced Labour Import Bans (updated)
This Policy Brief assesses the evidence base on the effectiveness of Forced Labour Import Bans by undertaking a desk-based review of publicly available evidence in English of Forced Labour import bans developed and in force by December 2024 and analysing the evidence against an effectiveness framework developed and used by the Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC).
