On 7 March, 2017, the Human Rights Council devoted its annual day of discussion to the rights of the child on the "Protection of the rights of the child in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
Beate Andrees, the Chief of the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Branch in the ILO spoke on behalf of the Alliance 8.7. Other speakers included Susan Bissell, the Director of the Partnership to End Violence Against Children, Anuradha Gupta, the Deputy CEO of the Gavi Alliance, Helga Fogstad, Executive Director of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Florence Lasbennes, Director of the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement Secretariat.
