Two years after the Alliance 8.7 Pathfinder Country Strategy was launched and with five more years to end child labour, and 10 years to end forced labour, modern slavery and human trafficking, it is essential to reflect on and learn from the actions taken and trends at national, regional and global levels.
The Alliance 8.7 Secretariat organised a technical online workshop gathering for the first time the designated national focal points from all Alliance 8.7 pathfinder countries. It provided pathfinder countries a platform to exchange experiences and to reflect on the pathfinder country process to date, including the monitoring of progress against agreed priorities, and to discuss the way forward.
The workshop resulted in:
- A shared understanding of the pathfinder country process, mainly the monitoring of progress.
- Pathfinder countries inspire each other by sharing good practices and experiences that can be adaptable to different contexts.
- Pathfinder countries have a good understanding of the opportunities to engage with Global Coordinating Group members and business networks.
- Common understanding on the way forward, particularly in the framework of the International Year of the Elimination of Child Labour
