Progress

  • Revision of the hazardous work list: The draft decree awaits validation by the National Health and Safety Commission in Cameroon before it will be forwarded to the Prime Minister's Office.
     
  • Finalization of the framework document for the Child Labour Observation and Monitoring System in Cameroon (SOSTECAM): The framework document is currently being drafted.
     
  • Preparation of the national report on child labour: The national report is currently being drafted.
     
  • Campaigns to inform the public of ILO conventions ratified by Cameroon: Awareness-raising campaigns have been organized in the country's ten regions, involving those involved in the fight against child labour.
     
  • Operation to issue 100,000 birth certificates in the far north of Cameroon: A joint action by the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development (MINDDEVEL-BUNEC Bureau National de l'Etat Civil) to provide birth certificates.
