Priorities
Under this priority, actions planned include: conducting a legal review of national instruments related to SDG target 8.7 issues and proposing amendments to ensure their alignment with SDG target 8.7; finalizing the revision of the Labour Code; developing and adopting a National Employment Policy; revising the Hazardous Child Labour List; harmonizing the Merchant Shipping Code with the ILO Maritime Labour Convention (2006); strengthening cooperation mechanisms between home and destination countries of victims of trafficking in persons, of modern slavery, forced labour and of the worst forms of child labour.
Under this priority, actions planned include: establishing an Alliance 8.7 National Multisectoral Committee as well as Committees at
department and local levels; building the technical and institutional capacity of actors engaged in addressing SDG target 8.7 issues, as well as that of administrative and criminal jurisdictions, and of the labour inspectorate on tackling the worst forms of child labour.
Under this priority, actions planned include: Developing a National Action Plan to combat SDG 8.7 issues and mapping interventions; putting in place a warning and monitoring mechanism; creating a database to register cases; strengthening information, communication and education among the population on SDG target 8.7 issues; setting up free education and vocational training programs for young people, adults and children victims of trafficking in persons, modern slavery, forced labour and the worst forms of child labour.
Increasing financing of activities aimed at combatting SDG 8.7 issues and strengthening international cooperation.
