We welcome as Chairperson Mr. Luiz Henrique Ramos Lopes, Secretary of Labour Inspection from the Brazilian Ministry of Labour and Employment; and as Vice-Chairperson Ms. Dilini Nadeeka Kumari Wataliyadda, Commissioner General of Labour, Department of Labour, Sri Lanka.
Mr. Luiz Henrique Ramos Lopes leads the Brazil’s labour inspection service and has been a labour inspector since 2007. A recognized specialist in child labour and forced labour, he has held several senior leadership positions and helped create the Regional Initiative Latin America and the Caribbean Free of Child Labour (RILAC). He also coordinated the National Commission for the Eradication of Child Labour (CONAETI). Since 2022, he has coordinated Brazil’s Sustainable Work Program, advancing responsible business conduct and due diligence across supply chains. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Employment Relations from the University of Turin and the ILO International Training Centre (ITCILO).

Ms. Dilini Nadeeka Kumari Wataliyadda currently serves as Commissioner General of Labour in Sri Lanka and brings more than two decades of public service experience to the role. She holds a degree in Geography from the University of Peradeniya, as well as postgraduate qualifications in Labour Studies from the University of Colombo, Women’s Studies from Flinders University in Australia, and Business Administration from the University of South Wales in the United Kingdom. Since joining the public service as a Labour Officer in 2001 and the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 2003, Ms. Wataliyadda has held a range of senior leadership positions, including Deputy Controller at the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Director General of the National Institute of Labour Studies, Director General of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, and several other key roles across public institutions. She is also the third woman in Sri Lanka’s history to be appointed Commissioner General of Labour.
