On 28 November 2017, a briefing was held in the Palais des Nations in Geneva by the Australian Government acting as chair of the Alliance. The purpose was to recap on the regional consultations that had been held over the previous year and to announce the establishment of the following Action Groups:
-Conflict and Humanitarian Settings
-Migration
-Rural development (eventually including education and social protection)
-Rule of law and governance
-Commercial sexual exploitation
-Supply chains
-An additional working group was also established on research and knowledge sharing.
