Progress
- The Roadmap for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labour and Protection of Adolescent Workers 2022-2025 was approved at the Government Cabinet level in January 2023.
- In 2023, the Child Labour Risk Identification Model (MIRTI) was used to give priority to departments and municipalities with the highest risk of child labour. This prioritization will guide prevention efforts, including awareness campaigns and training for the public, as well as inspections by the General Labour Inspection.
- Throughout 2023, various State institutions organized informative fairs to raise awareness about the worst forms of child labour and strategies for prevention and eradication. These fairs were coordinated between institutions, following the Roadmap's guidelines.
- The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare provided training on child labour and the relevant laws to employers, students, teachers, parents, and adolescent workers. Similarly, other institutions like the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare offered training in their respective areas of expertise.
- The Ministry of Education has focused on promoting the inclusion of adolescents in education programs. As of March, they have assisted 5,518 adolescent students aged 15 to 17 in extracurricular education programs. Among them, 41% are male and 59% are female. The distribution of educational offerings is as follows: 13% primary level, 63% middle level basic cycle, 10% diversified, and 14% free training courses.
